Eligibility: For all Duke undergrads, of all interest levels.
Duke University is partnering with the internationally renowned organization, The Apprentice Doctor®, in hosting this clinical skills program. This is going to be an intense 4 days of learning and mentoring. This is very much the Ultimate Clinical Skills Program for Pre-Med students available at this point in time!
Clinical Skills (Four intense days – 8 am to 5 pm and clinical case studies in the evenings):
- Medical history
- Asepsis and sterility
- Ebola PPE simulation demo
- Cardiovascular module
- Basic principles of diagnosis
- Case studies
- Scrub for surgery
- Learn to Suture wounds and tie surgical knots
- Venipuncture and phlebotomy simulation
- Orthopedic fracture reduction workshop
- Pulse oximetry
- Blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Gain dozens of other medical and surgical skills!
Program Coordinator: Kelsey Graywill is your Apprentice Doctor® Chapter leader and contact at Duke University and has been associated with the Apprentice Doctor® program for 5 years. She will also be one of your program lecturers.
